Three years after the 2020 election, a lawyer indicted in Georgia alongside former President Trump was set to be the first of 19 co-defendants to face trial for conspiring to disrupt the transfer of power. WABE’s Sam Gringlas spoke with Knowles Gallant Timmons Partner Chris Timmons, a Georgia trial attorney and former RICO prosecutor, about what to expect at trial.
Timmons said, “I make no bones about it. This is a Trump trial.” He explained the former president will be at the center of the trial because racketeering, or RICO cases, hinge on showing a pattern of people committing specific, underlying crimes in pursuit of a common goal.
