Amid the headlines and high-profile media coverage, many are wondering whether any of the 19 defendants charged in the Georgia election indictments may consider a plea deal. WSB-TV asked
former prosecutor Chris Timmons, a partner at Knowles Gallant Timmons, to share insight from his experience working on multiple RICO indictments.
Timmons said, “High-profile people want to try their case in the court of public opinion. They’re less likely to plead guilty because they want to hold their head up high and say I did nothing wrong.” He added that while some may consider a plea deal, clients with their notoriety often will not.
